Funerals

Everyone is entitled to a church funeral if they wish, regardless of whether they attended church or not. Please speak to your funeral director or one of our ministry team for more information.

A Christian funeral acknowledges the closing of a human life on earth and the grief felt by those loved ones left behind, but it also speaks of the hope and faith that there is eternal life to be found through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In the funeral service we will commend your loved one recently departed to the eternal love and care of our Heavenly Father.

If you are planning a church funeral for a loved one, a member of the ministry team will usually visit. They will be there to support the bereaved and will ask about the person who has died and what you might like to include in the funeral. We will do our best to accommodate any funeral plans you may already have for your loved one, or if you are unsure, then we can help you choose readings and hymns and assist in any way we can.
